Mariñeiro
The term “Mariñeiro” (sailor) usually covers all those who have a trade (not a hobby) at sea. It refers to all the sailors of inshore fishing boats, also called coastal or littoral fishing. It is carried out in boats up to 18 meters in length. The length is measured from the bow to the stern of the boat. Fishing is done no further than 60 miles from the coast, taking the mainland as a reference and the boat returns to port every day.
